Job Details

The Director of Protection Services & Travel Safety will provide expert leadership, executive protection, risk mitigation guidance, and operational management support to Salesforce Employees, the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and Global Safety & Security teams.

This Director must have a proven ability to infuse innovation and creativity into strategic planning, focusing on programs that provide enhanced protection services and travel safety guidance. The Director of Protection Services will lead the efforts and protocols designed to mitigate global security risks to our Employees & ELT. This position demands a highly talented, versatile, and forward-thinking executive who can work well under pressure, drive organizational productivity and efficiency, and have the skillset to deliver their expertise to teammates, peers, customers, and corporate leadership.

The incumbent will build capabilities across the company to effectively collect and analyze global security travel threat information from multiple sources that will inform & protect the leadership of potential risks to the business. The incumbent must have expert communication skills, excellent attention to detail, experience with Executive Protection, and a proven track record of internal, cross-functional, and external engagement.

  • Establish and implement strategic leadership of the Global Protection Services & Travel Safety program by setting the vision, objectives, and operations tempo for the team.

  • Lead all aspects of our Global Protection Services & Travel Safety program, including collaborative support for Event Security Analysis, Residential Security, Executive Protection Support, and Security threat assessment support.

  • Design and implement a standard for Executive Protection for Salesforce Executive Leadership Team and high-profile executives within Salesforce.

  • Effectively lead, coach, and mentor EP & Travel Risk professionals.

  • Lead business operations for the Protection Services programs while demonstrating a solid understanding of building budgets, forecasting, and measuring financials' business value via metrics.

  • Serve as a critical Leadership function of the Salesforce Global Security & Safety Team.

  • Benchmark and liaise with industry partners and local, state, and federal agency counterparts.

  • Develop and maintain business-critical relationships with key internal stakeholders.

  • Provide hands-on executive protection support as necessary.

Key Qualifications:
  • Proven experience working with Executive Protection professionals regularly, with a deep knowledge of EP operations and program best practices.

  • Demonstrated experience documenting findings in written reports and presentations leadership.

  • Experience with travel risk, threat assessment, and travel risk mitigation programs.

  • Ability to effectively articulate, present, and influence a broad audience of business partners and executives.

  • Experience in leveraging global intelligence platforms, trends, and hot spots.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, problem solve, and make decisions in complex situations.

  • Ability to innovate at scale.

  • Exhibit a high degree of motivation coupled with a solid work ethic and grace under pressure.

  • Strength in the following competencies: Collaboration, Communication, Protection & Building Programs.

Education/Experience :
  • 5 - 10 years of relevant work experience in Executive Protection, Travel Risk intelligence, building protection strategy, providing threat analysis & business intelligence/analysis.

  • Experience in working collaboratively with a diverse group of subject matter experts.

  • Experience within the Law Enforcement Community performing Intelligence functions is preferred.

  • Experience with Leading Others.

For Colorado-based roles: Minimum annual salary of $167,400. You may also be entitled to receive bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits.
